How do I update the ChangePilot App?

The ChangePilot team will periodically release new versions of the ChangePilot App Power App file. Upload the new app package and connect to your ChangeTracker SharePoint List to benefit from the latest features.

The ChangePilot team will periodically release new versions of the ChangePilot App with new features and functionality. Typically you will receive notification from the Customer Success Team via email. 

Updates should be treated as a new Power App installation as instructed in the Deployment Guide. When the new version of the App is installed and added to Teams, you can delete the old version from Power Apps and remove the tab in Teams.

Adding the ChangePilot App (Power App) to Teams

  1. Navigate to make.powerapps.com. If required, sign in, and head to Apps. Select Import canvas app.

  2. Download the ChangePilot App install package here and use the file for upload.
  3. Once uploaded, you will be presented with the ChangePilot App details. Click Import.

  4. Once imported, click Open App. On first time use, it will ask for your SharePoint and Office 365 connection details. The SharePoint connection is used to connect to the PowerApps data source (ChangeTracker SharePoint List) and the Office 365 connection is used to identify app users when entering notes. 



    In the example above, Power Platform connections already exist, hence they are already connected or require refresh. If required, configure the SharePoint connection for your ChangeTracker URL and click Allow once complete. 

  5.  The App will now load. Select Data from the left side pane and remove the current data source. 

  6. Click Add Data. Expand Connectors and select SharePoint. Click on your SharePoint connection. You will then be presented with a SharePoint panel on the right side. Select your ChangePilot Site: 



    and the subsequent ChangeTracker List. Click Connect:



  7. Select Publish in the top right of the window. After successfully publishing, select Back in the top left to return to the App selection screen. 


     

  8. Now select the Share option for your new App. You can choose to share with everyone in the organisation of just select individuals. 

     

  9. Navigate to the ChangePilot Team and pin the ChangePilot App in the General channel. The default tab name will the full Power App name, we recommend amending to ChangePilot App.
