Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer (HSF Kramer) is a world-leading law firm with a large global footprint. With its history and stature within the legal profession comes the need to remain strategically focused on the release of Microsoft 365 product updates that have the ability to improve business operations, while remaining vigilant and protective in relation to security and compliance in a hyper-sensitive industry.

 

The Goal

To introduce a solution capable of utilising HSF Kramer’s considerable Microsoft 365 skillset, creating a single coherent process capable of extracting the high value and high impacting Microsoft 365 Message Center and Roadmap updates.

The solution needed to optimise the organisations Microsoft 365 change management process enabling it to achieve level 500 of the Microsoft 365 Change Maturity Model, providing the business with the latest product updates while remaining compliant with internal security frameworks.

 

The Solution

ChangePilot is a Change Management SaaS tool that simplifies and improves the process of managing Microsoft Changes as communicated from the Message Center and Roadmap services.

By connecting to HSF Kramer’s Message Center and using Azure AI combined with Human Intelligence to review the impact and severity of Microsoft 365 changes, ChangePilot filters, prioritises and notifies service owners of all planned changes. 

In addition, utilising the full end to end capabilities of ChangePilot change management process, each update can be managed through to closure via a dedicated portal involving M365 product owners and associated stakeholders.

 

The Results

By utilising ChangePilot and its automated change process, HSF Kramer has achieved level 500 of the Microsoft M365 Change Maturity Model. In doing so it has addressed the administrative overhead of Managing Microsoft 365, saving time, reduced compliance and security risks associated with ‘on by default’ updates, and significantly decreased the downstream service disruption of changes by ensuring user and technical admins are informed of changes in advance.
